Thanks for dropping by! I'm "Ted the Chilhead" and I love chile peppers!
My goal is to spread the
"chile love" by creating tasty hot sauces for everyone to enjoy while benefiting charity.
Hoosier Chile Company is your source for one-of-a-kind "gourmet" hot sauces. Although this venture is mostly my brainchild, I have a LOT of support of the two TOP ladies in my life; my wife and my daughter have helped me pick the chile peppers and help with bottling.
My hot sauce is "one of a kind" because I never follow a recipe. I just follow my taste buds. While each batch of hot sauce may have the same name as previous batches, each one is uniquely different. Each sauce is hand-crafted. The ingredients are hand-picked. The labels are custom made for each batch. All my batches of hot sauce are small; I rarely make more than a couple cases of hot sauce. Once the hot sauce is sold out the same sauce "recipe" is never reproduced.
For many years, I gave my hot sauce away. Most of the time it would only last a few weeks. Friends, co-workers, and family constantly complimented me on my sauces and always wanted more. As of the spring of 2007 I began "selling" my sauce. However, all proceeds from the sale of my hot sauces go to charity. You'll soon find that although my sauces are hot, they can sometimes be as good as a fine Kentucky Bourbon. So, remember, get my sauce while it's available or you're going to miss out on some fine hand crafted sauce.
Why hot sauce for charity? Why not? I don't want to make hot sauce to earn money. I want to spread the news about the goodness of chile peppers and benefit charities while doing so. How does that work? All proceeds, after expenses, are donated to charities. Actually, I chip in some extra out of my own pocket. So, everyone benefits. You can enjoy some good hot sauce and the proceeds go to help others. It's a win-win situation!
